color match-ups. -BEFORE-

gotta correct them

(notes)

Test- again!

k, now u can see the dust particles..(watch in 720 HD)
I also added lens flare + fogs.
and yea I need to remove that weird glints on the rib cage..
(it's only supposed to be on the ship!)

ALSO

omg, I hate that stuttering.
I wonder if it's an issue with frame rates...
but they're all 24 fps..weird...
maybe cuz it's only 24? feels like it's sooo low rate..:(((( ???

Dust test.

Ok well you can barely see the dust here(it's on the top) but I'm worried if it looks too fake
because the dust is not moving with the camera....

but then I dont' know how to make it move with the camera and still look real.
(maybe I should scale it big, then bake camera animation, and use around 2-3 dust layers
next to each other???)

WIP composites

Needs dust/fogs and some lens flareeee and bloom

I dont like the mountains.....I've done camera projection inside of maya for these...but I still don't like it....I might use Terragen for this....don't really have time to paint mountains...(and I'm not good at it)

I put some slight blings in there xD

Needs volume lights!

this one is not even color corrected at all..

yep. going for that yellow look.
It's gonna have some red when it's on the screen anyways..
and those mountains flicker like crazy for that shot, I might need to put some fogs in front of them

They are all just composited together from multiple passes..
and some basic color corrections as well...
(need to do final color corrections when everything's done)

beauty previs YO!

beauty previs.
non composited shots.
I have the basic composites for all of them, I just need to add some special effects, and do some
color correction at the end.
Then sound & music edits!!
At least I got permission yay!!

more tests and photoshop stuff

ship that I just uploaded

photoshop fun.

camera projection + matte painting test

first shot test

photoshop fun.

fixed material settings + light
(not so sure about this composition)

only reason why I wasn't getting any specular for my spec pass was that I had zero reflection for all my environment props :(
well at least I fixed the prob

tried some quick photoshop touches

i really hope the stock fog footage looks nice...

Test render of ship

just felt like posting up some test renders (with no motion blurs).

I succeeded in generating procedural terrains for my background.
I used Vue to generate and export them to obj...
I couldn't export the color/bump maps because the UV's get messed up.
(bump maps don't work anyways. I tried exporting super high poly meshes and it still won't
generate it properly. no details, no point)

so I ended up using substance as procedural textures for the terrain,
and I just applied shaders for the background mountains.
the mountains are high poly (I want the lights to hit them so it makes that detailed shape),
but since it only has shaders in it's not much of a problem to render with several of them in the back.
SWEEET.
now I can just put in some matte paintings further back.

New revised previs (rough edits)

I apprently need something to fill in for the last shots instead of just going back and forth
between same shots.
